Okay, at the outset, let me clear it to all readers that this won't be yet another high cry on how the Organizing Committee has misused the public's money and how they have done everything, except living up to their promises, blah blah ...
On the other hand, I believe we should stop criticizing dear Mr. Kalmadi and his group of dimwits and start applauding their work.
Yes. You heard me. Start applauding their work !!
The Organizing Committee set out on the agenda of having a successful games and here in India, nothing is successful unless we, the Indians, win it. Light up your bulbs fellow mortals, Mr. Kalmadi and his associates did everything under the sun (which was, doing nothing at all) to ensure India won the games this year.
Confused?
oh well, thanks to their awe-inspiring work, most of the countries won't send their delegations and those unfortunate who have taken the trouble to come all the way to Delhi would probably be gone by October the 3rd, thanks to the highly livable conditions of the games village.
Again, we uselessly blame the Organizing Committee. Now come on! Was anyone there to tell them how 'village' was a metaphor here?
With hardly any competition, India's topping the medal's tally and riding high on success would be our dearly beloved, Mister Kalmadi. Hence, I believe, its time we recognized his 'vision' and appealed to the President to award him a deserving Bharat Ratna!
Any seconds to that?
PS - Is it really a co-incidence how "Suresh Kalmadi" is actually an anagram for "Sir u made lakhs"?? xD
